WHY USIRP?
Chart

The American people want their immigration laws enforced and traditional lower levels of immigration restored as national policy. In spite of this, a policy of mass population is being forced on them by an array of special interests who stand to gain money or power because of the policy.

Consider:
The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) now concedes there are anywhere from 8 to 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S.
Despite overwhelming public disapproval, Congress rewarded hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens with green cards in the late 1990s. This encourages more illegal immigration and making a mockery of our laws.
Our border controls are so weak that the Islamic terrorists who destroyed the World Trade Center could simply ignore visa restrictions and enter and leave the U.S. at will.
The U.S. set an all-time record for immigration in the 1990s, dwarfing any other ten-year period in American history.
Because of mass immigration, the Census Bureau estimates that U.S. population will leap from 283 million in 2000 to over 400 million by 2050, and could exceed 1.2 billion by the end of this century.
While world population growth has consistently fallen below projections in recent decades, U.S. population growth has consistently been above them due to immigration. If this trend continues, the U.S. share of the earth's population will increase from 5% to 15% by the year 2100!

USIRP's Goals

The U.S. Immigration Reform Political Action Committee (USIRP) believes that immigration-swollen populations of the magnitude currently projected by the Census Bureau will spell environmental, social, and political disaster for the United States.

We therefore support reducing overall immigration to our nation's historic average, less than a quarter of today's level.

We also believe that the recommendations of the U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform to control illegal immigration, should be enacted into law in their entirety.

Finally, we want our nation's elected leaders to meet their responsibilities to vigorously uphold our laws and safeguard our country's well being by adopting wise immigration policies.

Our Opponents Among the well funded interest groups that lobby for mass immigration are:
  • Immigration lawyers
  • Multinational corporations
  • Big government advocates
  • Ethnic grievance group activists
  • Multicultural advocates
  • Employers wanting cheap labor
  • Developers
  • Foreign governments
  • Our Strengths

Despite the enormous wealth and power wielded by these interest groups, polls consistently show the great majority of Americans — regardless of background — support USIRP's goals on immigration. For example, a Pew Research poll in1999 showed 3 out of 4 Americans favor cuts in immigration.

But we live in a country in which highly organized and motivated groups with much to gain, like the ones cited above, are often able to overrule majority opinion on many issues.

They can be defeated, but we must have the dedication, organization and most importantly, the financial resources to do. Support USIRP. Print off the contribution form, and send in your contribution today!
